Blue Lagoon has already lived two architectural lives, and the second one may be more interesting. What began as the kind of enormous glass-and-view Bird Streets showpiece Los Angeles was building around 2020 was reimagined in 2025 by Dahmor Studio with stone, organic materials and a distinctly Balearic sensibility. The skyline is still there. So is the scale. But the mood has changed. Instead of feeling like a machine designed to display Los Angeles, the house now feels softer, calmer and much more Mediterranean. That’s what fascinates us. Anyone can build a giant glass house in the Bird Streets. Blue Lagoon asks the harder question: how do you make 12,000 square feet feel serene? The answer seems to be stone, texture, greenery and enough restraint to let the architecture breathe.
