If Jay Gatsby had discovered Venice instead of Long Island, Lady Loren might have been the result. She's another of designer Alon Zakoot's celebrated Glass Ladies, but Loren takes the family in a decidedly Art Deco direction: bold geometry, dramatic lighting, color, glass and a central open-air courtyard where the saltwater pool becomes part of the architecture rather than something hidden out back. Walk through the double-height foyer beneath a sculptural chandelier and the house keeps performing: European lacquer cabinetry, Calacatta stone, espresso station, wine storage and floor-to-ceiling glass surrounding the courtyard. And then comes the part that keeps all that glamour from becoming exhausting: Abbot Kinney is right there. This isn't Gatsby stranded on an estate. This is Gatsby walking out for tacos.
