Not every house needs an Aha Moment. Sometimes the Aha Moment is realizing how easy the trip is going to be. Telluride Pacific Avenue is a three-bedroom, two-bath residence in Telluride Lodge, and I'd choose it for someone who wants a comfortable mountain home base without paying for a giant amenity list they aren't going to use. You're in Telluride. The ski mountain, restaurants, shops and town are the story. Inside, the residence has a comfortable traditional mountain feel and enough space for a smaller family to settle in. This isn't trying to compete with the ten-bedroom estates in Mountain Village. It doesn't need to. For the right guest, being able to walk around Telluride and come home to a simple three-bedroom residence is exactly the luxury they're looking for.

What we love

I like the simplicity. You're not maintaining a giant house. You're not figuring out which of the six living rooms people are in. You have a comfortable three-bedroom base and one of the best mountain towns in America outside. For a family that plans to ski all day and spend evenings in town, that can be a much better fit than an elaborate house farther away.

Keep in mind

This is not an estate. It's a more compact three-bedroom, two-bath residence, and that's exactly how we'd position it. Choose it for Telluride access, not for private-resort amenities.

Work Mode

Fine for staying connected during a longer trip, but workability isn't a defining feature.

Getting around

This is a strong in-town, car-light location. Restaurants, shops and much of Telluride can be reached on foot, with local transit available when helpful. Skiing is accessed through Telluride's town-side lift and gondola network. Summer is equally easy, with Town Park, hiking, biking, festivals, galleries and the gondola all part of the in-town experience.
