This is the Telluride house I'd choose when I want to see the mountains more than I want to see Main Street. The location is quieter and more residential, and the house takes advantage of it. High ceilings and broad views give the main living spaces a sense of openness, while the kitchen is substantial enough for a real group: a large island with seating, dining space for ten and a living room anchored by a fireplace. But the horizon is the thing. The mountain and alpenglow views are the reason I'd remember this house. The hot tub gives you another place to enjoy them, and the Ski Ranches setting feels removed from the activity of town without disconnecting you from Telluride altogether. Five bedrooms and six bathrooms also hit a nice sweet spot. It's big enough for several couples or two families, but not so enormous that everyone disappears into separate wings.
