Otis is what happens when the modern farmhouse grows up, moves south of Ventura Boulevard and decides it likes having people over. The bones are familiar: European oak, crown molding, clerestory windows, a big stone fireplace and a proper farmhouse front door. But the house quickly gets more social. There’s a kitchen island with a prep sink, Thermador appliances, built-in bar, wine cellar and pocket doors that disappear toward the backyard. Outside, a waterfall spills into the pool and spa, the lawn gives everyone somewhere to spread out, and the covered patio and firepit make dinner feel like it could continue indefinitely. That’s the version of farmhouse living we like here. Not precious. Not pretending Tarzana is Napa. Just warm materials, a comfortable house and a backyard that understands the assignment.
