Cassandra Street knows exactly what it wants to be. The Mediterranean influence, traditional detailing, arched openings, substantial millwork, and sweeping double staircase give the home a permanence that many newer Los Angeles houses simply don't have. There are modern touches where they matter, but nobody has tried to renovate the character out of it. More importantly, this big house actually gives a big family things to do. Kids can move between the play structure, basketball hoop, and pool while adults find their own corners. The theater creates an entirely different gathering place, and the dedicated office gives anyone who actually has to work somewhere to escape. We also love the less glamorous things that make a month with a crowd easier. A walk-in pantry matters when you're feeding a full house. Cassandra Street doesn't simply accommodate a big family on paper. Its layout seems designed to reduce the little points of friction that can make group travel exhausting.
