What we love

Inside, the main level flows beautifully. Kitchen, dining, and living areas are all connected, making the space feel larger than its footprint suggests. Off the dining room is a truly charming deck with seating and an outdoor fireplace. It’s a standout feature and a perfect spot for morning coffee or winding down at night, with redwoods as your backdrop.

Keep in mind

This is not a traditional, manicured luxury estate, nor is it designed to appeal to everyone. The home favors character, atmosphere, and a European sensibility over sleek lines and modern uniformity, and its layout reflects that philosophy. None of the bathrooms are en suite: one features a spacious walk-in shower, while the other offers a deep soaking tub with a hand-held shower, continuing the home’s old-world European feel rather than a hotel-style configuration. The “IL POLLAIO” Guest House is a converted farm building with a rustic sensibility, full of character and history, though less polished than the Main House. And the pool is not heated but receives excellent sun throughout the day. Guests seeking polished modernity or hotel-style consistency may want to look elsewhere.

Located just outside the heart of downtown St. Helena, the home offers easy access to Michelin-starred restaurants, tasting rooms, and boutique shopping by foot or bike. Calistoga, Yountville, and the rest of Napa Valley are all a short drive away, making this an ideal home base for exploration.
