You’re still just steps from Sunshine Market and a short walk into downtown St. Helena, but the positioning further back on the lot gives this home a bit more privacy and separation from the street. Like the Front House, this is a fully remodeled two-bedroom, two-bath home that blends classic bones with modern finishes. The interiors are clean, updated, and thoughtfully done, with a kitchen and bathrooms that feel fresh and ready for real use. What sets this one apart is the outdoor experience. Instead of a traditional backyard lounge, you get a bocce ball court, which immediately gives the home a more playful, wine country vibe. And just like its counterpart, it can be rented on its own or combined with the Front House to create a two-home setup that works beautifully for groups.

What we love

There’s something about being set back from the street that just changes the feel. The Garden House has a quieter, more private energy while still being right in the middle of everything. We love that balance. The bocce court is a standout feature and feels very on-brand for St. Helena. It’s the kind of detail that turns a good stay into a memorable one, especially for longer visits where you want more than just a place to sleep. The remodel here mirrors the Front House in all the right ways. Clean lines, updated finishes, and a layout that feels functional and comfortable for everyday living. And again, the proximity to Sunshine Market is a huge plus. Whether it’s morning coffee, last-minute dinner ingredients, or a great bottle of wine, it’s all right there. The ability to pair this with the Front House is another big win, creating a flexible setup that’s ideal for families or friends traveling together.

Keep in mind

While this home is set further back and feels more private, you’re still just one block off St. Helena’s main road, so some ambient noise carries through the area. You’ll also occasionally hear activity from Sunshine Market deliveries. As with the Front House, we view this as part of the trade-off for such an unbeatable location. No dedicated workspace here either, but there’s more than enough room to create one if needed.

Work Mode

No formal office, but the layout gives you flexibility. We’d likely set up in one of the bedrooms or even outside on a nice day. This is a great “work-light, live-well” kind of setup.

You’re incredibly close to downtown St. Helena and right next to Sunshine Market. Walking is easy and encouraged. A car is helpful for exploring the rest of Napa Valley.
