This is where “vacation home” starts becoming an inadequate description. Park City White Pine Canyon Road Foundry is a monumental contemporary Colony estate with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms and capacity for a genuinely enormous extended group. But the numbers aren't what make it interesting. It's the pool, theater, game room, gym and hot tub all living under the same roof. That's basically the amenity list from a small luxury resort. The contemporary architecture and private mountain setting give all that scale an appropriate backdrop, but what I appreciate is that the house isn't big simply for the sake of being big. A group of several families actually has different places to go. Kids can disappear into the game room. Someone can work out. Another group can watch a movie. Others can use the pool or hot tub. For a month-long stay with a large extended family, that's when enormous starts becoming useful.
