Paseo Miramar is not subtle, and it shouldn't be. Set above Los Leones Canyon, the newly completed estate looks from the San Gabriel Mountains across Downtown Los Angeles and all the way to the Pacific. Architect Tom Leishman designed it, Michael Palumbo handled the interiors, and the furnishings and finishes read like a roll call of Milan design houses: Molteni, Poliform, Modulnova, Porada, Gallotti, Bisazza, Flos and others, with even Hermès Milan contributing select details. This is the kind of house where we'd probably spend the first hour walking around saying, “Wait, look at this.” But the most extraordinary part may be the setting. From this perch, Los Angeles doesn't feel like a city so much as a landscape stretching from mountains to skyline to ocean. Paseo Miramar is less a house with a view than a private observatory with very good furniture.
