From the street, it’s charming but relatively unassuming: a white picket fence, buttery straw-yellow paint, and a long flight of steps leading up to this 1910 farmhouse. (The yellow, by the way, feels warm and nostalgic in all the right ways.) But open the front door and everything shifts. Inside, you’re greeted by a beautifully remodeled interior layered in warm greys and blues, contemporary furnishings, and gleaming hardwood floors. Completely renovated in 2021, the home blends historic character with modern ease so seamlessly that you almost forget you’re in a house that’s been standing for more than a century. It’s refined, comfortable, and unexpectedly special, the kind of downtown Napa gem you don’t see coming.

What we love

The location is unbeatable. A pedestrian bridge just a block away drops you straight into the heart of downtown Napa - restaurants, tasting rooms, coffee shops, and nightlife are all within easy walking distance. For guests who want energy and access, this is a dream. Architecturally, the home reflects an early 1900s design where the main living level sits above and the bedroom level below, something common a century ago and rarely seen now. The main floor features a large living room, dining room, beautifully appointed kitchen, a full bath, and a primary suite with its own bathroom. It feels light, polished, and thoughtfully curated. Downstairs are three additional bedrooms, another bathroom, and a small common area with a workstation, ideal for longer stays. Out back, there’s a charming backyard with an arbor, dining table, and year-round artificial grass lawn that’s perfect for relaxing. And then there’s the guest cottage. From the outside, it’s modest. Inside? It’s a showstopper. Large kitchen, beautiful living area, spacious primary bedroom and bath finished to the same standard as the main house. Altogether: five bedrooms, four full baths, and a layout that works beautifully for families or groups.

Keep in mind

This is a downtown property. You’re in a historic neighborhood close to other homes, and you’ll hear normal city sounds. There are no vineyard views here, and it doesn’t have that rural “wine country estate” feel. Instead, you’re getting proximity, walkability, and energy. Also, downstairs there are three bedrooms sharing one full bath. There is a second full bath on the main level adjacent to the kitchen, an unusual placement, but a practical solution as this is an historic structure. For us, it’s part of the home’s story. This house has evolved thoughtfully over time.
