I'd probably have my coffee outside. Mountain Village Sunny Ridge Place Vista has a private deck aimed toward Sunshine Peak, and that's the detail I'd build the stay around. This is a warm three-bedroom See Forever residence for eight rather than some enormous standalone chalet. The living spaces are comfortable and appropriately mountain focused, but they don't try to compete with what's outside. And I think that's smart. The mountain view is the decoration. With four bathrooms for three bedrooms, the house also handles a family or small group comfortably, while the See Forever location keeps Mountain Village and the gondola within easy reach. I wouldn't come here to stay inside all day. I'd come here because Telluride is outside.

What we love

The Sunshine Peak outlook from the private deck is the obvious Aha Moment. I like homes where you can identify the place from the view rather than simply saying, "mountains." The extra bathroom is useful too, particularly when eight people are staying together. And the See Forever setting gives you a nice middle ground between village activity and a more residential mountain experience.

Keep in mind

This is a three-bedroom residence accommodating up to eight, so the sleeping plan naturally makes more sense for a family than four adult couples. It's also a residence rather than a private estate, so don't expect giant private amenity spaces.

Work Mode

Fine for keeping up with work, but the deck and mountain setting are the real story.

Getting around

Telluride Ski Resort is the winter focus, with Mountain Village Core and the free gondola providing access to restaurants, shops and Telluride town. We'd use local transportation where appropriate rather than assuming direct slopeside access. In warmer months, hiking and mountain biking become especially attractive around Mountain Village, with golf, festivals and the gondola adding more options.
