After several contemporary Mountain Village homes, I like that this one goes the other direction. Mountain Village Sunny Ridge Place Cabin looks and feels like a proper mountain cabin. Stone and timber, a fireplace-centered living room and comfortable leather seating give it the traditional warmth people picture when they imagine a Colorado ski trip. But the kitchen keeps it from feeling dated. The cleaner design and island give the main living area a more current, practical center, so you get mountain character without feeling like you've stepped into somebody's 1990s ski house. There are four bedrooms and four baths, which is a nice family scale, and the balcony brings the elevated mountain setting into the experience. What appeals to me is that it's straightforward. This isn't trying to be a private resort. It's a comfortable family cabin in a location that keeps Mountain Village, the gondola and the mountains close.
