Four king bedrooms. Before we talk about the views, the fireplace or even the skiing, that's what caught my attention. Mountain Village San Joaquin Road Cabin is a five-bedroom modern mountain home that is unusually well designed for adults traveling together. Four bedrooms have kings, and even the fifth combines a king with bunks, so this isn't one of those large ski houses where half the adults end up negotiating over kid-sized bedrooms. The house itself feels polished and warm rather than overtly rustic. There's a huge stone fireplace with seating on both sides, a substantial kitchen island, a sculptural dining table and a second lounge downstairs with a wet bar. Then you get the practical ski stuff: serious gear storage, mountain access and even two ski passes. For a group coming to Telluride primarily to ski, somebody clearly thought about how the house would actually be used.
