For a second, forget you're in Bel Air. The house in front of you looks like someone brought a Cape Cod country estate west, added a little classic farmhouse, set it behind two gates on more than an acre, and then somehow gave it views of Los Angeles and the Pacific. That's why Stradella caught our attention. In a neighborhood where architecture often competes to see who can use the most glass, this house goes in the opposite direction. Pitched rooflines, traditional proportions, French doors, lawn, landscaping and a vegetable garden give the property an almost East Coast sensibility. Then you walk around back and find an infinity pool hanging over city and ocean views and remember exactly where you are. Stradella is a mash-up that shouldn't necessarily work: Hamptons country house meets Bel Air hillside fantasy. It does. And because we don't see another house quite like it in the collection, we like it even more.
