Savona feels like the kind of Bel Air house that existed before everyone decided a luxury home needed to look like a glass box. The tile roof, arched windows and Mediterranean bones give it a more classic California presence, while inside a two-story coffered living room, library, fireplaces and warm wood bring a sense of permanence that's increasingly rare in Los Angeles. Architect Blake Stephens designed the house to take advantage of an unusually flat Bel Air lot, and that's another reason it feels different. Instead of clinging to a hillside, Savona gives you a real grassy yard, pool and room to live outside while still delivering views that stretch across Downtown, Century City, the San Gabriel Mountains and toward the coast. We can imagine an earlier generation of Hollywood feeling completely at home here. Not flashy. Not minimalist. Just old-school California luxury done really well.
