Opening Snapshot

Londonderry Place has a two-level swimming pool with a glass bottom. Normally we'd stop there. Review over. But apparently that wasn't enough. There's also a cryotherapy chamber. Hot-yoga room. Salon. Theater. Wine cellar. Bar. Gym. Thirty-foot ceilings. Italian Sahara stone. Full-house automation. This house feels like Tony Stark got tired of Malibu and moved above the Sunset Strip. It's 14,000 square feet of Los Angeles excess with almost no interest in restraint. And you know what? Good. We've already celebrated subtle houses in this collection. Londonderry Place isn't one of them. This is where you invite friends over and spend the first hour giving them a tour because nobody believes the next room exists. Somewhere between the cryo chamber and the glass-bottom pool, you stop asking why and start enjoying the fact that somebody built it.

What we love

The insanity of the program. Let's begin with wellness. Cryotherapy. Hot yoga. Salon. Gym. Then entertainment. Full-scale theater. Bar. Wine cellar. Billiards. T hen the architecture gives you 30-foot ceilings and Italian Sahara stone floors underneath them. And then there's that pool. Two levels. Glass bottom. At some point an amenity list becomes performance art. That's where London Dream lives. What saves the house from becoming a collection of tricks is the location and view. You're perched directly above the Sunset Strip, so all this futuristic excess has Los Angeles spread below it. Exactly where it belongs.

Keep in mind

This house is a lot. If your version of luxury is understated, warm and quiet, we can recommend plenty of other Joes homes. Londonderry Place is for someone who sees a cryotherapy chamber and glass-bottom pool and thinks, Why doesn't my house have those?

Work Mode

There are offices and plenty of private spaces, but if you manage to work a normal eight-hour day while staying here, we question your priorities.

The brag

Joe B. lens:
Come on. A glass-bottom, two-level pool and a cryotherapy chamber? This is completely ridiculous. I love that they just kept going. Every house doesn't need restraint.

The house is huge, but at least the scale is being used. Multiple bedroom suites, gym, wellness spaces, theater, parking and different social areas mean a group can actually spread out instead of everyone ending up in the same great room.
Together we agree:
Londonderry Place answers the question, "What if we added one more thing?" approximately thirty times.

Getting around

You're immediately above the Sunset Strip, putting West Hollywood's restaurants, nightlife and entertainment just below the house, with Beverly Hills and central Hollywood close by. The irony is that Londonderry Place gives you so many reasons to stay home.
