Los Angeles Caverna Drive understands its assignment. The architecture is bold, contemporary, and unapologetically LA, but instead of competing with the setting, the house continually points you toward it. Walls of glass frame the city, balconies push rooms toward the horizon, and a sculptural floating staircase somehow manages to make moving between all those levels feel like part of the architecture. The kitchen even gets in on the drama, with two waterfall islands giving a full household plenty of room to spread out. One can handle dinner while the other inevitably collects everyone who says they're helping. But the real surprise waits at the bottom. Getting to the pool requires some commitment, but once you're there, you have your own world: sun, water, lounge space, and those enormous views. We especially love the waterfall spilling into the pool. Moving water adds another layer to the setting, creating that wonderful background sound that makes everything around you feel farther away. And when darkness falls and the city lights switch on below, the same view becomes an entirely different show.
