Opening Snapshot

Kenwood Keiser Road is one of those homes where the journey is part of the reward. You wind through classic Sonoma backroads, past rolling vineyards and golden hills, and eventually arrive at a grassy green knoll with 360-degree wine country views in every direction. Every window looks out onto something beautiful, and that sense of total immersion in wine country is what makes this home truly special. The house itself is an older, well-loved property that prioritizes comfort and gathering over polish and modern design. It’s light, airy, and welcoming, with generous indoor and outdoor spaces that naturally pull people together. The front deck and pool area are the stars of the show—places where you’ll want to linger all day watching the light move across the hills. This is not a sleek, magazine-ready luxury stay. It’s a relaxed, spacious, come-as-you-are kind of home—perfect for families, multi-generational groups, or friends who want space, views, and time together without worrying about living in a museum.

What we love

The location is off the charts. The setting feels quintessentially wine country, with vineyards and rolling hills in every direction and a sense of privacy that’s hard to find. The views are constant and immersive, and they never get old. The outdoor living is where Kenwood Keiser Road really shines. The front deck is expansive and inviting, with seating areas that beg you to slow down. A graceful semicircle of steps leads to the in-ground pool, and once again, the views steal the show. This deck-and-pool combo is the heart of the property and where most guests will naturally spend their time. Inside, the house is bright and comfortable with plenty of windows and relaxed living spaces. The kitchen is large, clean, and functional, and while dated, it’s ideal for group cooking and socializing. You can easily have a crowd gathered with wine glasses in hand without anyone getting in the way. The dining setup is built for a group, with a massive table that could comfortably host big family meals or long celebratory dinners. With five bedrooms, the home is clearly designed for larger groups who want to stay together under one roof.

Keep in mind

This is an older home, likely from the 1970s, and it shows. While everything is generally well maintained and clean, there is some deferred maintenance and nothing here feels modern or design-forward. If you’re looking for sleek finishes or a high-design wine country aesthetic, this won’t be the right fit. The landscaping is a bit uneven. The front yard and deck area are lovely, but the backyard is more of a mowed meadow than a manicured garden. One bedroom contains the washer and dryer in the closet, which makes it awkward as a true sleeping space. We’d recommend treating that room as a laundry room or overflow bedroom rather than a primary choice. This home sleeps a large group comfortably and is best suited for guests who value space, views, and togetherness over luxury finishes.

The brag

Joe B. lens:
This is wine country authenticity at its best. The views, the deck, and the pool create a setting that feels generous and unpretentious. It’s not about flash—it’s about comfort, gathering, and soaking in a place that genuinely feels special.
Joe R. lens:
For longer stays or remote work, the space really works. There’s room to spread out, great natural light, solid Wi-Fi, and outdoor areas that make breaks feel restorative instead of rushed.
Together we agree:
Kenwood Keiser Road is about togetherness, scenery, and slowing down in a place that feels unmistakably wine country.

Getting around

Kenwood Keiser Road sits tucked into the hills near Kenwood, so a car is essential. You’re close to Kenwood wineries, hiking at Annadel and Jack London State Parks, and roughly 20–25 minutes from Sonoma Plaza. The drive is part of the charm.

Joe-Tested,
Joe-Approved

If you’re prioritizing views, outdoor living, and space for a large group, this home delivers. It’s not flashy, but it’s warm, welcoming, and memorable—and for the right guests, that’s exactly the point.
