Not every ski trip needs an enormous private house. This three-bedroom Deer Valley residence is a good example of why. Inside, you get vaulted ceilings, tall windows, a fireplace and a warm mountain interior that feels appropriately polished without becoming formal. The kitchen, dining and living areas all connect naturally, and the large balcony extends the living space toward the mountain. Then Flagstaff Lodge does some of the heavy lifting. Downstairs you have access to the hot tub, fire pit, game room, gym and ski storage, so the residence effectively lives larger than its own footprint. And most importantly, you can ski directly in and out. For a family or two couples traveling with kids, I'd seriously consider whether I'd rather have this kind of slopeside convenience than a much larger house requiring everyone to organize around cars every morning.
