A car is essential here. You're well outside downtown Breckenridge, so this isn't a location where you'll walk out for coffee, groceries or dinner. The property is about nine miles from the resort area, which gives you a good sense of the tradeoff: considerably more seclusion, but you'll be driving when you want Main Street's restaurants, bars and shops or the ski mountain. Breckenridge Ski Resort is the primary mountain, and I'd build transportation into the ski-day plan rather than thinking of this as a slopeside house. The more remote Hoosier Pass setting has its own outdoor appeal, though: you're close to high-country scenery and recreation, with Quandary Peak and surrounding hiking country among the notable attractions in this part of the area. In summer, Breckenridge also opens up mountain biking, rafting and fly fishing, but those are outings from the house rather than doorstep amenities.
