Bowmont is one of those houses where the architecture makes sense the minute the glass disappears. The contemporary design is crisp and dramatic, with soaring ceilings, porcelain floors and walls of glass, but the real point isn't to stand inside admiring it. It's how easily the house opens itself to the backyard. Living room, kitchen, pool, firepit and outdoor entertaining spaces begin to feel like one big California room. We also like that this isn't a hillside house trying to win you over with a giant view. The luxury here is privacy. Behind the gates, the house turns inward toward its own pool and landscape, creating a surprisingly secluded little resort in the hills above Beverly Hills. For a month, that's a trade we'd happily make.

What we love

The glass is the aha moment. When those big living spaces open toward the backyard, the house changes personality. Suddenly the pool isn't an amenity you walk outside to use; it's visually part of the main living space. That's Southern California architecture doing exactly what it's supposed to do. The scale helps. Sixteen-foot ceilings give the main level drama, while the wet bars and open entertaining areas make this an easy house for having people over without turning it into an event production. Then there's the backyard. Pool, barbecue, firepit and generous outdoor living give you enough going on that an ordinary Tuesday can turn into dinner outside and a swim without anyone suggesting a plan. That's probably the best test of a 30-day house: does it make normal days better? Bowmont does

Keep in mind

Bowmont is about privacy and indoor-outdoor living rather than the panoramic Los Angeles views you'll find at some of our ridge-top homes. We actually think that distinction matters. If your fantasy is waking up to the entire city below you, there are better choices in the collection. Here, the payoff is a backyard that feels protected from it. This is also a car-oriented part of the hills. Think private residential base rather than walking out the front door for coffee.

Work Mode

The bedroom separation is useful for a longer stay. Four en-suite bedrooms sit apart from the primary entertainment level, so someone can find a quiet place to work without asking the rest of the house to be quiet.

The brag

For me, it's that wall of glass. Open the living room toward the pool and suddenly the architecture isn't something you're looking at anymore; you're living in it. That's my favorite version of modern California design.

I like the circular driveway more than I'm probably supposed to. With a group staying for a month, easy arrivals, multiple cars and not constantly shuffling vehicles actually matter. It's one of those luxuries nobody photographs but everybody appreciates

Getting around

You're in the Beverly Hills Post Office/Beverly Crest hills, with Beverly Hills, Bel Air and the Westside within easy driving reach. This isn't a walk-to-dinner location, so we'd plan on driving for restaurants, shopping and most outings. The reward is coming home to a much more private residential setting.
