Five bedrooms and eight bathrooms tells you pretty quickly that this isn't an ordinary ski house. Avon Holden Road is a full-scale Beaver Creek estate for sixteen with a private hot tub, outdoor fire pit, large entertaining spaces and its own theater. This is the house you take when the house itself needs to be part of the vacation. There's enough room for a large extended family, but what I like is the amount of support space around those five bedrooms. Eight bathrooms means sixteen people aren't fighting over showers. The theater gives everybody somewhere to go after dinner. The outdoor fire pit creates another gathering space, and the hot tub handles apres-ski exactly the way it should. It feels like a proper mountain estate, not simply a house where somebody figured out how to squeeze sixteen sleeping positions into five bedrooms. For a big family staying a month, that distinction matters.
