Warm Spring Bungalow
Kenwood, CA

Opening Snapshot
At first glance, Warm Spring looks like a modest 1950s bungalow tucked into the hills of Kenwood. But step inside — and especially out back — and you’ll realize this is one of the most soulful homes in our collection. What it lacks in showy polish, it makes up for in warmth, intention, and a palpable sense of love. This home is less about flash and more about hidden gems, thoughtful details, and outdoor spaces that invite you to slow down and explore.

What we love
Every corner feels personal, intentional, and cared for. The owners — Bay Area chefs and restaurateurs — designed this home with entertaining and cooking in mind. The kitchen may be small and separate, but it’s highly functional, with everything you’d want for long stays. The living room is bright and airy, opening onto French doors that spill into a backyard full of magic.
The bedrooms are another highlight: no “master suite” here, just three equally inviting rooms with their own personalities. Perfect for couples or friends traveling together — no straws to draw.
Out back is where this home truly shines: terraced gardens full of fruit trees, a pool with forest views, Adirondack chairs perched above it all, and path-lit walkways that invite wandering at night. The little details are everywhere, from thoughtful signage to tucked-away cozy corners, making the home feel welcoming and cared for.

Keep in Mind
The home’s front entrance feels understated compared to the beauty within, and the kitchen layout is smaller and more traditional, not the open-concept style many travelers expect. And while the home isn’t finished at quite the same level as some of the grander estates in our portfolio, it carries a boho warmth and intention that more than make up for it.
The Brag
Joe B. lens:
This house is all about soul. I loved the little surprises everywhere — Audubon prints in the closets, handwritten notes that make guests feel cared for, and a backyard that feels like an adventure in itself. The kitchen may be small, but you can feel it was designed by people who truly love to cook and entertain. This home has the warmth and vibe that makes it unforgettable.
Joe R. lens:
I really liked this house. Even though it doesn’t have the same level of fit and finish as some of the bigger estates we’ve reviewed, the warmth and intention resonated immediately. The vibe felt authentic, and the backyard especially sealed the deal for me. This home works — not because it’s perfect, but because it’s thoughtful and full of heart.
Together we agree:
Warm Spring may not be the most polished home in the collection, but it’s one of the most soulful. It’s a place that feels genuinely loved — and that makes all the difference.

Getting Around
Warm Spring is tucked outside Kenwood, with Glen Ellen nearby and Sonoma and Santa Rosa a short drive away. Not walkable to much, but everything you need is within easy reach by car.
