Sprawling Sonoma Getaway
Sonoma, CA

Opening Snapshot
Just a mile and a half from the Sonoma Plaza, this whitewashed farmhouse manages to feel both connected and completely removed. You arrive through olive trees and lavender, past a picket fence that sets the tone for a home that’s warm, welcoming, and effortlessly wine country. With its pitched roof and simple charm, it’s not meant to be grand — it’s meant to feel like home.

What we love
The flow here is fantastic: the kitchen runs seamlessly into the dining room, then out to the back patio and pool, making it ideal for entertaining. The grounds stretch out to forest views that feel like acres of countryside, and there’s even a small garden where long-stay guests could tuck in tomato plants. The separate garage apartment works perfectly as an office, creative space, or overflow lodging. It’s farmhouse architecture done right — modern, high-end, yet comfortable. If you’re a Magnolia Home fan, this one checks all the boxes. And a fun fact: the pitched gable roof with its square window above the entryway was the inspiration for The Joes logo — that’s how much this house impacted us.

The Brag
Joe B. lens:
I love the entertaining flow — kitchen, dining, patio, pool. It’s a natural gathering place for family and friends, indoors and out.
Joe R. lens:
The garage apartment is a dream for remote work — your own office space just steps away, but separate enough for focus.
Together we agree:
This house nails the wine country lifestyle. It’s understated, beautifully built, and ready for long stays where the outdoors matter as much as the indoors.

Getting Around
Downtown Sonoma Plaza is just a 1.5-mile stroll or a quick drive for dinner at the girl & the fig or breakfast at Sunflower Caffé. For wine, Sebastiani Vineyards is just down the street, and Bartholomew Estate pairs tastings with trails through its surrounding park.
