Franklin Crest has been sitting in the Beverly Hills hills since 1959, and we like that you can feel a little maturity in the idea of it. This isn’t a preserved mid-century museum, and we wouldn’t pretend it is. The house has evolved. But it occupies more than half an acre and carries the proportions and established landscape of a home that has had decades to settle into its site. That’s a different kind of luxury from the newest spec mansion where every olive tree arrived on a truck six months ago. Franklin Crest feels residential rather than performative. It doesn’t need to convince you it’s new. It needs to convince you it’s comfortable. For a month in Beverly Hills, we find that increasingly appealing.

What we love

The mature setting is the story. Established landscape and a generous lot give the house a sense of permanence that can’t be fabricated quickly. We also like the practical bedroom balance. Six bedrooms and six bathrooms make a larger household much easier to manage without the constant room-allocation compromises that can derail a group stay. The kitchen and family-oriented layout reinforce the feeling that this is a house meant to be inhabited rather than toured.

Keep in mind

Franklin Crest is an older Beverly Hills home, and you can feel some of that age compared with the brand-new estates in the hills. That’s also part of its appeal: mature landscaping, established character and a house that feels like it has actually been part of the neighborhood for a while. If you want ultra-modern architecture and the newest finishes, there are better choices. And like most homes up here, you’ll be driving when you head out for dinner, shopping or exploring LA.

Work Mode

The larger bedroom count and established residential layout provide plenty of options for carving out a quiet work zone without sacrificing the main living areas.

North Beverly Drive takes you into the hills above central Beverly Hills, with Rodeo Drive, the Beverly Hills Hotel, West Hollywood and the Westside within the broader driving orbit. This is residential hillside living rather than a walkable flats location.
