Modern Marvel has a wooden bar that makes us want to cancel dinner reservations. That's where we'd start, because this nearly 10,000-square-foot Beverly Hills contemporary is full of enormous amenities, but the bar gives the house personality. Down on the entertainment level, it sits beside a glass wine room, movie theater, gym and another living area. Upstairs, the kitchen has a massive island and butler's pantry, while giant sliding doors lead toward a pool surrounded by outdoor fireplaces, TVs and a full barbecue setup. This is adult entertaining done properly. Not a nightclub masquerading as a house. Not a white box with a lonely bottle of tequila staged on a counter. Modern Marvel feels like somebody actually thought through where twelve grown-ups would want to spend Saturday night.
