As the day cools the mini-splits keep each room to its own setting, which suits a house where people drift to different corners. Then the light turns and the outdoors takes over again. The hot tub runs, the waterfall trickles behind the seating, and dinner runs long because the view keeps changing. The surprise, after a week, is how rarely anyone reaches for the television. The city puts on a better show.
